Australia’s Pandemic of the Fully Vaccinated | 4 in every 5 Covid-19 Deaths are among the Fully Vaccinated according to official Government data

Australia is very much in the midst of a “Pandemic of the Fully Vaccinated, with 9 in every 10 Covid-19 cases, and hospitaliations, and 8 in every 10 deaths between 26th Nov 21 and 15th Jan 22 recorded as being among the triple/double vaccinated population.

According to official data, New South Wales (NSW) Australia has seen confirmed Covid-19 cases increase ten-fold since the middle of December 2021, breaking records for the number of confirmed cases in the region since Covid-19 first struck in March 2020.

On the 14th Dec 21, NSW recorded 1,347 cases in a single day. But fast forward one month and we can see that the state recorded 48,133 cases in a single day on the 14th Jan 22.

The same can be said in terms of Covid-19 deaths. Since the new year deaths have skyrocketed to the highest levels seen throughout the entire pandemic.

On the 29th Dec 21, NSW recorded just a single Covid-19 death, but fast forward to the 17th Jan 22 and we find that the state of NSW recorded 36 Covid-19 deaths in a single day, the highest number recorded to date.

But it isn’t the unvaccinated population who are accounting for the record breaking number of Covid-19 cases and deaths, it’s the fully vaccinated.

The NSW Government publish a weekly Covid-19 Weekly Surveillance Report, the most recent of which was published on 4th Feb 22, containing data on Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations, and deaths by vaccination status up to January 15th 2022.

Page 9 of the report (found here), shows us the number of Covid-19 cases by vaccination status, and it reveals that since Omicron was allegedly discovered, there have been a total of 450,603 confirmed cases among all those eligible for vaccination (age 12+) in NSW, Australia.

And a shocking 372,912 of those cases have been recorded as being among the double vaccinated population,

A further 4,458 cases were confirmed among the partly vaccinated, and 55,697 cases were confirmed among the unvaccinated. But with 17,350 cases now confirmed among the triple vaccinated this proves that it doesn’t matter how many jabs you get, they simply will not do anything to prevent infection or transmission of Covid-19.

This means that between 26th Nov 21 and 8th Jan 22, the vaccinated population accounted for 88% of Covid-19 cases in NSW, Australia.

Page 9 of the report (found here), also shows us the number of Covid-19 hospitalisations by vaccination status, and again we find that the vast majority have been among the vaccinated population.

According to the report between 26th Nov 21 and 15th Jan 22 there have been 4,941 Covid-19 hospitalisations in NSW, Australia.

Of these the double vaccinated accounted for a frightening 3,912, the partly vaccinated accounted for 118, and the not-vaccinated population accounted for just 679. The triple vaccinated population also accounted for 238 hospitalisations, proving that it doesn’t matter how many jabs you get, the Covid-19 vaccine simply will not protect you against hospitalisation.

This means the vaccinated population accounted for 87% of Covid-19 hospitalisations since Omicron struck.

Unlike in the UK, where celebrities and politicians have been able to make false claims about the vaccination status of the majority of Covid-19 patients in ICU because of the lack of data, the NSW Government kindly inform the public of the number of Covid-19 patients in ICU and their vaccination status.

Page 9 of the report (found here), shows us that between 26th Nov 21 and 15th Jan 22, there were 429 patients eligible for vaccination who were in ICU with Covid-19, and yet again the vast majority were vaccinated.

The fully vaccinated made up 314 of those ICU patients, whilst the partly vaccinated accounted for 17, the triple vaccinated accounted for 20, and the not-vaccinated for just 55.

This means that between 26th Nov 21 and 15th Jan 22, the vaccination population made up 82% of all Covid-19 patients in ICU.

Finally we come to Covid-19 deaths. Page 9 of the report (found here), reveals the number of Covid-19 deaths between 26th Nov 21 and 15th Jan 22 by vaccination status, and in all there were a total of 222 deaths.

Yet again, according to the NSW Government report, the fully vaccinated accounted for the majority of deaths recording a total of 149, with a further 9 deaths being recorded among the partly vaccinated population, 11 deaths among the triple vaccinated and just 21 deaths were recorded among the not-vaccinated population.

This means that between 26th Nov 21 and 15th Jan 22, the vaccinated population accounted for 76% of all Covid-19 deaths, and it also proves that it doesn’t matter how many jabs you get, the Covid-19 injection simply won’t protect you against death, in fact it appears it may make your chances even worse.

Vaccination was billed as the solution to “a pandemic that never was”, in Australia. Now it looks like that pandemic is just beginning, and it is very much a pandemic of the fully vaccinated.

According to the rate of booster, it seems to me that booster can reduce infection by quite a bit. However, once infected, the hospitalization rate, ICU and death rate are about the same.

You have failed to take into account the percentage of the population that is vaccinated. In NSW on 26th Nov 21, 79.8% of the population had at least 1 dose and on 15th Jan 22 this increased slightly to 81.5%..
Using the dataset, the total deaths for the period is 222. Let’s say 20% of the population is unvacinated, then:

  • 53 deaths in 20% of an unvaccinated population equates to 53 x (100%/20%) = 265 deaths if 100% of the population was unvaccinated. That’s 43 more deaths.
  • 169 deaths in 80% of the vaccinated population would equate to 169 x (100%/80%) = 211 deaths if 100% was vaccinated. That’s 11 less deaths.

BUT! Rarely do people under 18 years of age die of Covid and in NSW the over 18 year vaccination rate is almost 95%. Let’s assume 5% of the adult population is unvaccinated and the 222 deaths in the period were all older than 18 years. Repeating the above calculation gives:

  • 53 deaths in 5% of the unvaccinated ‘adult’ population would equate to 53 x (100%/5%) = 1060 deaths if no one was vacinated. That’s 1007 more deaths.
  • 169 deaths in 95% of the vaccinated ‘adult’ population would equate to 169 x (100%/95%) = 178 deaths if everyone was vaccinated. That’s 44 less deaths if the remaining 5% of the adult population got vaccinated.

Using this dataset and correcting (roughly) for vaccination rate and age, the true comparison is 1060 people would have died if no one was vaccinated and 178 people would have died if everyone was vacinnated.
I’ve made a very coarse statisitically assessment here and it may not be correct. But it shows clearly how statistics can be mis-represented. You do yourselves a disservice by not applying quantitative statatics correctly.

Not sure about these stats but your point is correct, and extremely important. To draw meaningful conclusions we need to look at the proportion of cases, hospitalisations and deaths in relation to the proportion of people within each vaccination status group. And account for age ranges (example – elderly have been given boosters earlier than other groups, and they represent a higher risk age category in terms of hospitalisation and death regardless of vaccination status).

Broadly speaking, what seems to be shown here is that, at the present time, in NSW, according to this data, those who have been jabbed have some protection, at least for now. But it’s certainly nothing like the optimistic hopes and claims that have been made about the efficacy of these medicines, and whether this limited protection is worth the various adverse reactions that are still yet to be fully understood or explored, especially long term, is another matter.

So it isn’t accurate to say that this is a ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated’, but also, it doesn’t seem to be accurate to say that it’s a ‘pandemic of the vaccinated’ either. I really like a lot of the Exposé work, but I do agree with Jonno, there’s a disservice done by only looking at the statistics one dimensionally, and then creating a headline around that. Otherwise, thank you for the consistent good work.

I’m assuming some of the 1068 would have died too even if they were vaccinated?

Very likely, Graham.
In NSW in 2020 there were hardly any Covid deaths. In that year 52,485 people died (Australian Bureau of Statics, 3303.0 Causes of Death, New South Wales, 2020). That is 143.8 deaths per day. I get a bit angry when each day our NSW health minister sends his condolences to the hand full of people that died with Covid the previous day. What about the other 130 or so people that died the previous day? Why not do everything in our power to save their lives??? Anyway…
In the dataset period used in this article, 25 Nov 2021 to 15 Jan 2022, there are 50 days and so around 50 days x 143.8 deaths/day = 7,190 deaths are likely to have occurred from all cause motality. In this period the deaths in the unvacinated population were 53, and, as I showed above, if no-one was vacinated then 1060 people may have died in this period if no vaccines were available. Which is a significant increase; instead of 7,190 people dying there could have been 8250 deaths.
BUT! As Graham has alluded to, some of the unvacinnated 53 deaths (out of a probably total of 7,190 all-cause deaths) may have been in people in palliative care, or with compromised immune systems, or other conditions for whom the vaccine is contraindicated.
I ran out some numbers and if 26 of the 53 unvaccinated deaths were people in the vaccine contraindicated group, that leaves 27 deaths in the unvacinated group. Using the NSW Heath data and replacing the 53 deaths in the unvacinnated group with 27, then the likelihood of dying after hospitalisation is no different between the unvaccinated and vacinated groups. Interesting.
With such a relatively small number of deaths in the unvacinnated group, great caution must used. That is, the confidence (or probablistic uncertainty) of a static analysis may well render the anaylsis invalid. Don’t rely on my rough calcs; they are simple calcs just to highlight points I find of interest.

“the Covid-19 injection simply won’t protect you against death, in fact it appears it may make your chances even worse.”
Your own data proves the contrary : non-vaccinated are 12% of the Covid cases but 24% of the death cases. That means being vaccinated does indeed reduce your chance of dying from Covid-19.
